Undies

After dinner is usually dance party time and probably the time the kids get along best. I decided to capture some shots from tonight's undies party...Monkey see...monkey do!Look at that gut!

Potty Training #1 - Done!!

Carter is officially potty trained! He was a rock star and all those horror stories I heard about boys...I guess don't apply to my little angel. :) I know that #2 can't possibly be as easy, so I won't claim that it was anything I did to make it go so well, but I'll take it! He started wearing undies on Jan. 3rd and since then he has had 1 accident. That's right, one time...that's all. He still wears a diaper when he naps and overnight, but he has never been wet after a nap and I would say 95% of the time he is also dry in the morning. At this point, I still ask him if he has to go, just to remind him, but he can tell me yes or no if he has to go and he is usually pretty honest! Way to go Carter!

Jack is a talker!

Jack's words are coming fast & furious. At 14 months, he gets his point across pretty darn well. Here is the list of words he can say...with more everyday.

Mama, Dada, Bye-Bye, Night-night, monkey, dog, (most of the animal sounds), moon, star, pizza, cheese, milk, juice, blueberries, thank you, please.

Now of course, I am probably the only one who can actually understand him, but he says them in context and constantly! The chair that he spends the majority of his day...he is an eater!

I love that he shares my love of monkeys...he does the best monkey sound and always wants to give all of our monkeys some love.

Bumps & Bruises

So I know having boys I will experience my share of witnessing and enduring all of their bumps and bruises, but I like to try to keep them to a minimum if possible. I am learning though, that might be harder than expected. Carter took a tumble the other day from his booster seat and busted his lip pretty badly. What I didn't realize was that he got his front tooth as well. So now, he's got a brown (dead) front tooth. His smile isn't quite the same, but he doesn't know the difference and I know I am lucky to only have to worry about a little thing as this!

Long Weekend

We enjoyed a great long weekend (love those bank holidays!) with lots of play time. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of us at our activities but I thought I would share anyway. Sat. we got to go to breakfast to Carter's pick of the restaurant. No joke when we were in the car Carter says "Daddy, I want to go to the Blue Restaurant". We asked...the blue restaurant? He answers, "Yeah, the blue restaurant with pancakes" (meaning IHOP). Then in the far distance he spots the sign and says "That one, that one over there!" Then we sit at our table and Carter looks around puts his elbows up on the table and says "Daddy, I LIKE this restaurant, it is a good one!" You can obviously tell this kid likes his pancakes!

Monday, we went to an indoor water park downtown which was more like an indoor pool with slides. Carter loved it. The basketball hoops were Jack & Carter's favorite by far. Carter thought about going down a slide, but as soon as he got up there, decided "it was a little bit scary". After an hour and a half both of the kids' lips were purple so we decided it was time to get out. They would have stayed in there forever though...something different and fun for the middle of winter!

Snow Day!

This past week Charlotte was inundated with snow. This was the most we'd ever seen in Charlotte, so of course, the city shut down and we were couped up inside for a couple of days. I took the kids out to play in it 2 times and they LOVED it! Jack wouldn't keep both gloves on and was picking up the snow with his bare hand saying "ball, ball" with no hesitations at all. In fact, both times that I made him come inside for fear that he would freeze entirely, he threw the biggest fit because he just wanted to stay outside. Carter had fun shoveling his snow into his sand buckets and using the bulldozer to make his paths and of course tried a few snow balls as well. It was a fun time for all and dad even got to work from home one day, which was a nice treat to have him read stories before nap time and eat dinner with us!! Our house in the winter wonderland

Playtime!

After returning from Tulsa, Mark was able to take the rest of the week off, which was so fun. We had lots of playtime indoors with all the fabulous new toys and some nice weather outside so we could try out the new bike & trike. They both love love love their new rides as you can tell!
